JVTA Meets PIA Film Festival: Shorts

In the Global Universities Subtitling Project of the Japan Visualmedia Translation Academy (JVTA), students gain initial experience in film subtitling. We present two PIA Film Festival shorts, which were subtitled by students of the Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf (SUNRISE) and the University of Ghent (ODD CHIAKI).

Chiaki created her imaginary friend Haruki to speak for her when she is not able to. But she soon realizes that his words are actually her own suppressed thoughts. An intense drama about self-acceptance, loss, and the courage to find one's own voice.
