After 30 years, Takuo HONDA closes down his legendary Tokyo-based cinema “Baus Theater” in 2014. On the last day he reflects on his family’s history, back to his grandfather, who began working in a cinema in 1927. Following director Shinji AOYAMA’s death in 2022, his student Sora HOKIMOTO completed this dreamy trip through time, based on real events.

About Sora HOKIMOTO
甫木元空

Sora HOKIMOTO, born in Saitama Prefecture in 1992, studied at the Department of Moving Images and Performing Arts at Tama Art University, where he was particularly influenced by director Shinji AOYOMA and where he made the films 11. (2012 / NC ‘13) and A SONG THAT NEVER ENDS (2014 / NC ‘15). After studying, he worked as an assistant director for Masashi YAMAMOTO and Ryosuke HASHIGUCHI. His feature film debut came in 2016 with HARUNEKO, which had its world premiere at the Rotterdam International Film Festival. His second feature film VISIT ME IN MY DREAMS (2022) was shown at the 35th Tokyo International Film Festival.
