A video installation by Chiemi SHIMADA

MMM is an eclectic collection of cloud images taken from Japanese films of the past century. Chiemi SHIMADA drew inspiration from Japanese physicist and cloud expert Masanao ABE as well as climate scientist Tapio SCHNEIDER, who reflects on society’s anxieties about a potentially cloudless sky in the future. MMM is a fundamental exploration of the role of formlessness in the history of cinema.
