Shodo, literally "The Way of Writing," has been practiced in Japan since the 7th century. It's about more than just beautiful writing. Japanese calligraphy requires the right mindset: concentration and inner peace of the whole body. Artist Lanka ABE will give you an insight into this traditional art and show you how to put artistic Japanese characters on paper with brush and ink.
