Mitsune is a Japanese folk fusion band from Berlin with a trio of female Tsugaru shamisen players accompanied by percussion and double bass. Combining tradition and avantgarde, they play an exciting mix of re-imagined Japanese folk songs and original tracks drawing from blues, jazz, rock and film scores. In 2022, they released their sophomore album, which was praised in Rolling Stone and entered the Transglobal World Music Chart’s Top Ten.
