UMUI – Guardians Of Traditions
ウムイ「芸能の村」
Nippon Docs ¾
Ryukyu dance and sanshin music are among the most impressive traditions from Okinawa. Director Daniel LÓPEZ, being of Swiss-Spanish origin and living in Okinawa, is fascinated by the way these art forms are still being passed on from one generation to the next. Observing the young and the old, he portraits century-old customs that are threatened to be lost.
