Kenji, Asakura and Ota are textbook examples of slackers. This changes when Kenji comes into possession of a bass guitar. Fascinated by the instrument, he encourages his friends to form a band – which is soon invited to perform at a music festival. Kenji IWAISAWA’s almost single-handedly animated feature-length film debut is a masterpiece of laconic humor.

About Kenji IWAISAWA
岩井澤健治
Kenji IWAISAWA, born in Tokyo Prefecture in 1981, began his career as a student of director Teruo ISHII, later turning to animated film. He completed his first short film, MAN IN THE TUNNEL ALLEY, in 2008. As early as 2012, he began production on his feature-length film debut, ON-GAKU: OUR SOUND (2019 / NC ’21), which won the Grand Prize of the Ottawa International Animation Festival in 2019.
