Even with their Korean ancestry, sisters Reiko and Harumi are rooted in Japanese language and culture. While Harumi is curious about her heritage, it is an obstacle for Reiko, whose mother disapproves of her Japanese boyfriend. Jengil PARK’s emotional and subtle feature film debut deals with prejudice and identity – and how different generations handle it.

About Jengil PARK
朴正一

Jengil PARK, born in Tokyo in 1970, dropped out of De Anza College in California and taught himself filmmaking. He was represented at Nippon Connection for the first time by his short film MUITO PRAZER (2020 / NC ’21). POEMS OF FLOWER RAIN (2024 / NC ’25) is his feature film debut, which won an audience award at the 2024 SKIP CITY INTERNATIONAL D-Cinema FESTIVAL.
